Kito Sports Infant Sled
Item # SLED

Specificaions:
- Box dimension Infant sled 42 x 17.5 x 17.5 12.1
Lb
- Box dimension Toboggan 72 x 16.75 x 10.5 19.8
Lb
- The Toboggan is regulation size (72 x 16) and
is made from steam bent bamboo with hardwood braces. All fasteners
are stainless steel and the price includes a pad with ties to attach
it to the toboggan and a rope for pulling. Because bamboo is stronger
than steel for its weight, the toboggan is lightweight, supple and
strong.
- The infant sled is also made from steam bent
bamboo with hardwood braces and stainless fasteners. It includes a
pad with ties and a rope for pulling. The infant sled has a high,
curved back for added support for young children. Like the toboggan,
the infant sled is lightweight, supple and strong.
- Both products have a 90 day warranty against
defects in workmanship and materials.
- The toboggan (like any sled) should be used with
adult supervision and is suitable for ages five through adult. Young
children should be taught to observe basic safety rules and avoid
hazards.
- The infant sled is for children up to thirty-five
pounds. This sled is designed for the parent or adult to pull the
child over the snow on relatively level and smooth terrain. Under
no circumstances, should the child be propelled down a hill or otherwise
left unattended.
The National Safety Council offers these
guidelines for safe and fun sledding and tobogganing:
- Keep all equipment in good condition. Broken
parts, sharp edges, cracks and split wood invite injuries.
- Dress warmly enough for conditions.
- Sled on spacious, gently sloping hills which
have a level run-off at the end so that the sled can come to a halt
safely. Avoid steep slopes and slopes located near streets and roadways.
- Check slopes for bare spots, holes and other
obstructions which might cause injury. Bypass these areas or wait
until conditions are better.
- Make sure the sledding path does not cross traffic
and is free from hazards such as large trees, fences, rocks or telephone
poles.
- Do not sled on or around frozen lakes, streams
or ponds because the ice may be unstable.
- The proper position for sledding is to sit or
lay on your back on the top of the sled, with your feet pointing downhill.
- Sledding head first increases the risk of head
injury and should be avoided.
- Sledders should wear thick gloves or mittens
and protective boots to protect against frostbite as well as potential
injury.
